The Apostle Paul is nearing the end of his life. As he closes this final letter to Timothy, his "son in the faith", he again reminds the young man about the importance of remaining faithful to preaching the Gospel message. Paul also reflects on the fact that he is ready to die, knowing the eternal rewards of a faithful life in service to the Lord.
My very first podcast, in which I answer the following questions everyone (probably) wants to know: Who? What? Why?
Joe Chappel
Hello. I wanted to take this time to let you all know about myself. I am blessed by the Lord to be the husband of a wonderful northern California woman (we just celebrated our 10th anniv. last month). I am also the father of two outstanding little boys (see picture). Also included in our family are our four fish (2 goldfish & 2 zebra danios) and a black lab/border collie. In 1997, I graduated from Harding Univ. (Searcy, AR) with a Bachelor's degree in Bible & Religion. I am a minister for a small house church (church of Christ) in northern California. I have been preaching in this area for just over eight and a half years now. It's a beautiful place to live, being in the valley surrounded by the redwoods. I am originallly from the northeast (NYNE area), but I met my wife in college (she was a nursing major) and she bought me out here to the West Coast. We have been here ever since. I am also a self-employed computer consultant (just over two years now). Lord willing, my wife and I will be able to expand my business starting next spring. On top of this, my wife and I are also homeschooling our boys (they're on summer break right now). Some of you might be wondering why would I also want to add podcasting into the mix. Well, I had wrestled with that thought for sometime myself. But I figured that getting into podcasting would be something I would not normally do, that it would definitely be unfamiliar territory to me. Of course, seeing it in that light made podcasting entirely attractive to me. I feel kind of like a pioneer, considering that I'm the first in my family (immediate and extended) to get into this medium (is that the right word?). I believe that podcasting is an excellent way of communicating with others, and personally I think that it can be an extension of my ministry. I only ask that you all would be patient with this veteran to the web (over 10 years) but newb to the podcast (less than 10 days, :) ). I'll get the hang of it, eventually, lol. Anyway, I hope that I didn't put any of you to sleep (zzz...). Just wanted to let you know a little about myself and where I'm coming from. Please feel free to leave comments, really. It's cool.
